100Mbps Broadband

NTL is to begin field trials of ultra fast broadband next month in a bid to hit speeds of up to 100Mb.

The UK cableco, which has received the thumbs up to acquire Telewest and is still holding talks to buy Virgin Mobile, is hooking up with US outfit ARRIS to run the trials. The firms have already completed testing in the lab, but want to see how well the technology works in the real world.

100Mbps? That’s very fast! I wonder what is the upload rate though. Will the speed of internet keep on increasing? Will there be a limit? I don’t think so. Someday, we’ll feel that 100Mbps broadband is not sufficient..What do you think?

Yes, I’ve heard of that too. But then it’s not available on individual basis, it’s shared between occupants of many flats/apartments if I am not mistaken….

Haha… Might be… All because of the monopoly.. It’ll be good if they have so many competitors like in the UK…
